SATURDAY!! I HAVE MOCK TRIALLLSSSS!

I'm kind of back on the internet for half of the afternoon.
Chris send a link to a website, I wrote something about wanting to learn french, and something about how hard I worked in te mock trials. I also said that I wanted to know how I would do in this competition.
what are our views on polotics? It was then also said, and might I add on my behalf and on the behalf of all the other bloggers, that no matter what people said on thier views on poplitic we wouldn't judge them. Fair enough. But there are certain things that would be unacceptable: If one of us were to agree, that it was a good political decision to issue a fatwa on salman rushdie to be killed by any Muslim, and that muslim would be excused in the muslim comunity, Just because of a book he wrote expressing his opinions about Islam. Then I would hold that against them. If somebody said that they agreed with the pope, likening homosexuality to our depleting forests, then also I would have to hold it against you. If you were to say that Hitlers polotical dicisions were just, or that mogabi's running of zimbabwe is wise polotics I would have to oppose. As a person with a brain, I respect people who have views different to mine, but when they are as ill in formed as that, there are boundries. Ok, perhaps I'm being picky, I didn't really think anyone in here would agree with, for example, what the pope said. Or that there are any hitler worshippers among us. But seriously onto my view on polotics? I think that people should be allowed to do what they want to do, as long as it doesn't impede on anyone elses rights. I think that George Bush was dumb, I think that Gordon Brown is boring. What else is there to say?
I think emmas question was, about how would we change if we found out when we were going to die or something.. I would.. focus more.. I dont really know to be honest. sorry.
Then Emma asked, what do I like to do when Im feeling a bit ill? Normally sleep, but I like to do that even when I feel well.
Would I be the same without internet? simple answer. No. What would I do if it wasn't here? Well, chris, if you could travel into the paralell universe, where that does actually happen, then please tell me, because I don't know how and I have absolutley no idea whatsoever I'd be doing. Prehaps I might develope a friendship with a block of cheese.. I would go insane.

My question will be.. How did you enter this internet community? And wish me all luck for saturday, I will be first defense lawyer. I'll tell you all about how the case went, and what the case was perhaps over the weekend or next friday. BYE!!!!!

Because it's awesome...

Sometimes I fail but I usually win in the end.

Okay first of all, how did we go from 5 people to two? I know Becca is in LA this week so she can be excused as such, but I have no idea what's happened with Sam. He seems to have fallen off the internet or something, he has not updated his dailybooth or been on msn. Hopefully he is just having technical difficulties or something and all is well otherwise. Speak of the devil he just logged into msn as I write this. Just as an update he informs me he has simply been extremely busy with school work.

In other news, ZOMG I finally got my new MacBook Pro!!! It's all shiny and pretty and new and amazing *gushes some more...* However getting my MBP was slightly stressful. I should mention that anytime I'm expecting a package and have a tracking number for it, I am OCD when it comes to checking when and where it is at all times. I litterally was checking the Fedex website every 15 min once I knew it was in Calgary. Anyway, so it arrived in Calgary Monday morning and I wanted to just go and pick it up straight away since I knew I wouldn't be home when they tried to deliver it. So I called Fedex to see if I could do that, but they wouldn't let me pick it becuase their contract with Apple requires them to attempt delievery at least once. So the following day I planned to go pick up my MBP when I was done school. Just becuase I could, I checked the Fedex website again to see if they attempted delivery yet, and to my surprise they had and it got delivered, which meant someone signed for it. Initially I thought my landlord (who lives upstairs) had signed for it, so I quickly texted her to confirm. She responded by telling my she was out of the house all day, and didn't sign for it. My flatmate was also out of the house, which meant I had no idea who signed for my package.

Needless to say I became slightly worried that someone simply signed for my package and walked off with my new laptop. It turns out that the neighbour signed for it, and ended up leaving my package in the doorway. I was like WTF it's -30, who leaves a laptop outside for 2 hrs in that weather!?!? Naturally I rushed home to make sure everything was ok, and as of right now it seems to be working. I also preformed a RAM and Harddrive transplant as soon as I got it as well, which means I now have 320GB 7200rpm and 4GB DDR3 1066mhz. So far it is everything I expected it to be, I haven't tried doing any video editing but I will be doing that soon enough.

To answer my own question:

I don't neccesarily like the politcal party in power right now (the conservatives), but I also don't like their main contender (the Liberals). Neither of them seem to know what their doing and seem to endlessly fuck up the country, granted the conservatives seem to have at least stablized things in respect to the economy. I should also add that they seem to have given Canada a backbone once again. As Emma and I were discussing the other day, Canada has traditionally just followed in the footsteps of all the other major global powers, but lately we have been doing things more and more on our own, and not merely conforming to everyone else. Personally I support the Social Democrats in Canada, just becuase a more socialist system appeals to me and makes more sense in my mind. Ironically before I even knew Emma, I've always taken an appreciation for the Swedish Government, and how they are able to implement a Social Democratic government so very well!

When I'm feeling ill, I usually just sleep a lot, and curl up under several blankets and watch TV/Movies. I also try to drink lots of tea and fluids in an attempt to feel better and clense my system. I also try and drag out my sickness for as long as possible just so I can skip school/work LOL. For the record it has been quite sometime since I've been genuinely ill, probably a couple years since I've had anything more then a cold or sore throat.

As for my letter I basically just wrote about what I'm doing in my life right now. Nothing serious, just a light mildy humourous letter to myself. I also mentioned that if it works, I will write a long and proper letter to myself for several years down the road. Currently I set it to send in a years time.

New question:

What do you think you would do in your spare time if the internet didn't exist? Also do you think you would be the same person if the internet didn't exist?

Welcome to my life

As you might have noticed this post is a little late. Thats because my internet decided to fail on me last night but now it's up and running again.

This will be a really short post because I'm really busy, tired and I'm still feeling my cold or someting else maybe.

So this last week has been pretty uneventful. I got sick on wednesday with a fever of almost 104 so the rest of the week and weekend was spent inside and mostly in bed trying to get better. I'm gonna move on to the questions now and since neither Becca nor Sam posted any blogs I don't have to much to answer.

I'll start by answering my own question about life. I would probably try to do more things and not procrastinate everything if I knew exactly how long I had to live. On the other hand it could actually also lead to procrastinating if I knew I had 50 years because thats a long time.

Chris wanted to know what we thought about politics and what we supported or disagreed with. I like the social democrats and the political system we have here. Mainly because we have such a big safty net. Although I think sometimes people have to start take some responsibility of there own and don't just use the system. But I guess you have to take the bad with the good.

Chris also gave us a challenge to write a mail to the future us. I wrote about how stressful things can be and are right now and that I need to learn to priorotise what to do. And that the world won't go under just because I haven't gotten everything done perfectly and on time.

My question for this week is "What do you like to do when your feeling a bit ill?"
