It's FRIDAY!!

I'm fine thanks... Thank you all for asking *cough cough. So, the moment has finally arrived to write my article. It is Friday today, so that means I am now left with the blog in my dominion! And it also means, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!!!I guess a captivating way to start off, would be to disclose in some information about myself.. Ok, so my name is Sam, I live in the good ol' U of K. Wait, that's not right, what I meant to say was, I'm English. I really have no Idea how I am supposed to seriously tell you about myself, I have no real starting point. Ok, I give up, you can probably guess what's coming up next: if you want to find out more about me I guess you'll have to (delete as appropriate: read my blog/watch my videos/ go to my myspace) my blog is http://www.sam-gurney.blogger.com/. I didn't really want to relinquish my virginity on this blog, but there you go, you've got me.
Ok, the past week of mine has been pretty bland, flavourless, drudurous... basically as boring as a Gordon Brown doing stand-up, whilst two nerds are having an debate about pi... hmm really interesting! So I'm going to talk about new year, as that was only nine days ago. To start with I'm not a huge fan of new year, 2008 for me was a really negative year there were few real highlights to that year. I was quite a twat to be honest, and the crapper my life was going the more it seemed to reflect onto my personality. Towards the end of 2008 and from the dawn of 2009 marked a new era for me, I now am a much more positive person, and although I doubt my personality has had much bearing on it, but everything is going much better. Now, I have just read that back, and it slightly evokes the thought that I suddenly changed over the new year, It had been a working progress for me. And by now if you are screaming expletives, punching your computer screen, or even flushing your computer down the toilet in anger that I can claim to have been depressed at this young age, well then.. ha ha it's your loss. I'll stop talking about that, and I'll restrain from divulging into all the things that were going wrong to make me like that... So, anyhow that was the main thing over new year.
right, what to go onto now.. ah-ha! questions!
1. Becca, you asked what I got for Christmas. well, actually I didn't get much this year, because my mum had bought me a laptop a couple of weeks before Christmas so that's kinda my Christmas present. But in terms of what I physically received, I got some books, some random little things and favorite of all I got Dorris. Who is this beautiful, enchanting, alluring, present you talk of. It is my giant lollipop, duh! Ok, so that just makes me sound like a pervert, but what I'm going on about is actually my giant lolly-pop! It is the size of about two fists, and me and Joe, my older sister's boyfriend named her Dorris.

2.Chris, you said 'where would I most like to go to?'. Well that one's fairly easy, That would have to be the Netherlands, I have wanted to go there or to Belgium since last summer and when I decided that I wanted to live outside of the UK, then I finally I decided on the Netherlands (sorry Micheil). I have actually been meaning to be learning some dutch, but I always procrastinate... In fact, me learning dutch is how I found this community thing, I was watching one of Ericos's dutch videos www.youtube.com/ericos and then I found everyone else..
3. Emma, what was my new years resolution? To be calmer/more positive, and the other one is a secret! There are many targets I have that I want to achieve by the end of 2009, Like speaking dutch better, speaking french better and just generally being happy! XD
4. On Thursday, Michiel asked us what animals would we be? Well that's easy, I'd be a horse because I have a big..... Should I even finish that? why not? well, I would be a horse because I have a big mane. eww? wtf is with the dirty mind people, I was only trying to make a reference to my big hair.. Jesus Christ..

Ok, so my question is going to be.. no, no wait It's not gonna be a question, I want you all to tell me three things you love about your country and why, and then three things you would change/ hate about your country, and why.
here goes: three things I love about my country- 1, our freedom, the fact that we are given our rights, I know from the countries we all come from that's just given anyway, but It's cool, there still are countries who aren't given they're rights.
2.Our hospitality, English people, I know some are twats, but generally they are nice people. You can always count on them helping out in a difficult time.
3.I love our humour/ banter. I sometimes get the feeling this is always something that you can count on in other countries, like say for example.. France. See, there I go again, it's in my blood, it's not there to offend anyone, it's just nature for me.
three things I would h=change.. wow, this is gonna be easy.
1. our priminster, i don't know if he actually knows why he is even in charge.
2. Our generosity, yeah surly that's a good thing, but when we give out loads of money to people who chose not to work just because they don't want to that is just dumb.
3. the way our government bosses us around.. I thought we were a democracy.
Ok, random blog I know.. enjoy your weekend, and we'll see you again on Monday, Becca will be starting us off again. ciao!

ok, so maybe I don't wear odd socks..

Thursday.

It is thursday, and I stumble upon a problem.
I fail at logging in.
Apparently Safari isn't being cooperative and therefor I am now doing a horrible thing.
Opening Internet Explorer.
Ugh.
The evilness of Vista... I blame Vista for all my netbooktroubles.
But ah well, as it appears I am logged in by now and writing you this note, so let's carry on...

As you propably might have guessed, my name is Michiel.
I am known on youtube as michske86 and I am also a member of VloggersOfTheWeek.
For 2009 I am doing a little project called QuickMe09.
There you have it, that's my intro. Watch and learn my minions!

Still interested it seems?
Ah well, here's some more knowledge to chew on then!
I'm a 22 year old boy from Belgium. I'm a happy gay with way too much energy... Oh and pink curtains.
I work in retail, electronics to be more precise, and I love my job, even though I put in way too many hours from time to time...
I've done gymnastics for 16 years and was rather good at it, to be honest.
I've also teached gymnastics to children from 3 to 12 years old. I love children and I would love to have kids of my own one day too.
And I love snow. Just sayin'.
It's been snowing here.

Becca wondered on Monday what our christmasgifts were?
Well, I got money, which I wanted for my trips. And my mother gave me a voucher for a free massage, so I'll better call the salon for an appointment soon :) Hot stone massages ftw!
Trips? Yes I will be doing trips this year!

The first two weeks of February I will be in England, the UK, The island next to Europe, 'that country'.
I'm going to tour around the UK, meeting lots of fabulous people, and... maybe I will be announcing something during my tour, or right before my tour... who knows.
Oh and don't worry, i'll be blogging while I'm there, since I will have Wifi in every place I stay normally :)

Chris asked on Tuesday where we would love to travel, and for me that's Sweden, Iceland, The USA or Australia... kinda difficult to pick one... I'm even throwing New Zealand in there...
I guess Australia will be my pick if I really need to pick one, because it's the furthest away and I'm less likely to be able to visit Australia then I am to visit the others. Though I love travelling...
If only life wasn't as expensive...

Money makes the world go round.
And my wallet empty.

Wednesday was Emma's day, and after discovering that she has been teaching gymnastics as well *yay* I was glad to see that her question was 'new years resolutions' and normally I'm not a fan of resolutions, because I tend to never do them. This year though, I decided that I need to be more organised, and I'm really working on it!
Today for instance, I rearranged my whole appartment, and now I have a separate working area, which will get organising shelves soon... Yay for steps in the right direction!

Tomorrow is Sam's day, and not only am I looking forward to his blog, as I'm sure you all are, but tomorrow is also Chris' birthday! So happy birthday Chris! Hope you have a brilliant day tomorrow!

My question this week, since I can't close this blog without posing a question of course, is 'If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?'

Deep questions! Uh-uh uh-uh!

Socks ya later aligators!

It’s finally Wednesday!

Now you might be saying to yourself that there’s nothing special with Wednesdays and that it’s only halfway to the weekend. And I’ll be the first to agree with you on that but this Wednesday is special because it’s my first day on this blog that we’ve created.

So let me start this out by giving you all today’s sock:

Share photos on twitter with Twitpic

Well, now I think it’s time to move on to some sort of introduction so you all get to know something about me.

I guess I could start out by telling you I’m 19 years old and as Becca already told you I’m from Sweden. Oh, and If anyone forgot my name it’s Emma. I’m currently on my first year in college/university and I’m majoring in Human Resources and Labor Relations. *God that sounds boring* But I hope to work with recruitment at least that’s what I want today. I love to read and I have to admit that I also spend a lot of time watching TV. I have numerous shows that I love and most of them come from the US.

*takes some time wondering why there isn’t more shows from other countries*

And I’m back… What more could I tell you? Well, I used to teach gymnastics to kids in the ages of 4-9. Oh, one more thing I’m probably the most vacillating person I know. If I have more than one thing to choose from it can take A LOT of time. That’s one of the reasons why I never can give a conclusive answer to questions like favorite color or food and things like that, it changes from day to day.

Let’s move on with this now. I’ve had winter break for the last month (technically it’s not break it’s just lecture free time, so I’ve had some schoolwork to do). During this free time I’ve been on three cruises, I really love going on cruises. I’ve also spent a lot of time with my family, kind of hard to avoid when you still live at home, since we’ve all had time off from work and studies. I spent both Christmas (on a cruise from 23de to the 25th) and New Years (at home) with my family. And to answer Becca’s question, the thing I got for Christmas that I was most excited about has to be my camera. Other than that I got mostly money and gift cards.

Oh, and Chris wanted to know what is one place I would like to visit and why. I would probably have to say USA because it seems to have everything. You have the big cities like New York and LA, you have warm places like California and Florida and just a lot to see al around.

My question for this week is: Do you have any new year’s resolutions? If you have, what is it? And if you don’t have any, why not?

To answer my own question I would say that my resolution for this year is to try stop procrastinating everything. Because it just makes me so stressed when I have a lot of things that have to be done asap just because I procrastinated.

So I’ll see you again next week, but you should come back tomorrow too.

Reporting live from the tundra that is Canada!

*que background music, "I'm the only gay eskimo"*

Ok, well admittedly it's not actually that cold here today (-6C/21F), but the other day we were down to about -40 C/F with windchill. I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I'm used to that kind of weather, the town I grew up in had temperatures like that for weeks at a time, so I'm well accustomed to freezing my ass off.

As you can see this is my first post on the collab-blog so here's a little about me:

- I'm gay (as if that wasn't obvious)... and single *wink* :P
- I was born and raised in northern Alberta
- I have Polish heritage (both parents) and am therefore both a Polish/EU and Canadian citizen
- I love music of almost all kinds and can't live without it, my favorite genre however is Dance/Trance/Electro
- I currently live in Calgary
- I'm a Physics Major at the University of Calgary and love it so!
- I'm obsessed with imported things, everything from food to cars to music to electronics
- My favorite colour is blue
- I was a competitive alpine skier for 8 years and participated in the Arctic Winter Games (thats right, not only did I wear spandex in public, but also froze my ass off regularly doing so!)
- Photography and traveling are my two biggest hobbies

Alright, well I won't tell you everything since that would just make the rest of my posts boring... onwards with ... err... something... *tries to think of what to write next*

... *several minutes later*...

My holidays went quite well, nothing overly eventful, just spent some time with the family and went to visit some family friends for a big ole Christmas dinner. New Years was also farily low key. I went to a small house party and had a festive time bringing in the new year. Overall despite not doing a lot over the break, I quite enjoyed the slowed tempo of it all. The fall semester was very busy especially the last month as it was expected to be. This is my first week back, and so far so good. I'm looking forward to 3 out of 4 courses, and the forth I don't really mind, but it's more of an annoyance then anything.

To answer Becca's question, my most significant present would have to be my new glasses, which hopefully will be ready sometime this week. Other then that I got some money and smaller items all of which I greatfully appreciated.

My question is what is one place you want to visit in the world and why (somewhere you haven't already been)?

Mine would be Ibiza, Spain, mainly becuase it is the global mecca of club/dance/trance music which I love! I also love the mediteranian and beaches and all that jazz.

the start Of Something new

Good day my fellow bloggers. Today is the start of a new project. A collaboration blog, with 5 vastly different people, from around the world. On Mondays, we have myself, Becca from the good ol’ US of A. Tuesdays are dedicated to Chris a gay Canadian. And on Wednesdays we have Emma from Sweden. Thursdays you ask? That would be Michiel from Belgium. And finishing the week we have Sam from the UK.

On the agenda for the day, is a little background information about myself.

I am 19 years old, and I live in the state of South Dakota. I am currently a sophomore in college, which is also called 2nd year, majoring in sociology and criminal justice with a minor in Spanish. I am about 5 feet 6 inches tall, which has absolutely no relevance in this matter. I make youtube videos from time to time, and so now is the place I will whore myself (www.youtube.com/n3rdyNugg3ts). I like to read, my favorite books, thus far, are definitely twilight, new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn. And I look forward to finishing the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de La Cruz very soon. I am a self proclaimed nerd-fighter. I like the colors black and pink, especially together. I also enjoy singing, scrapbooking and playing guitar hero.

In other news, this past week slash month has been fabulous. I’ve been on winter break from school, and get to return on the 13th of January. For Christmas I got an iPod touch, which has stolen a lot of my time lately, getting it all set up and whatnot. Nothing else has happened….wow….lame life. But that’s okay, I manage, and can’t wait until I go back to school!!!!

Now onto the rest of you. I would like to find out what you all got for Christmas that you were excited about. Just throw it in wherever it fits.

See you tomorrow Chris!!!!

Sock of the day.
