Someday I’ll hopefully get enough sleep

I’m so tired and was about to go to sleep but then remembered that I hadn’t written my blog so this’ll be a quick one.

Last Thursday I had my big exam in my labour law course and I’ll get the result in three weeks. And today I started my two economy classes. So far I like both the professors but since it’s the first day and ten weeks left I can’t say too much about it.

Let’s continue to the questions before I fall asleep.

Chris question last week was about what our favorite thing to purchase is. I love shopping for clothes, if I had the money I could probably spend all day all days in different clothing stores and buy all the clothes I like. I also love buying movies. At the moment I think I have 6 movies that I’ve bought but not had the time to watch yet.

Sam wanted our opinion on the case and from the info you gave us I would say that he probably is guilty because he had the car key and ran. You don’t run when the police come and you’re innocent, even if you feel ill. You stay and explain. However I think it could be difficult for a jury to convict him since it’s almost impossible to make a positive id of the driver so that could work in his favor.

My question this week is, “Do you save money for the future? Or do you live for the moment and spend all your money now?”

hi people! It has been a busy and ultimatley tiring week and also the week, I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks so, has gone quickly. Updates: hmm.. I have got a new case for the mock trials, and that will be in about six weeks when I am going to coventry to defend either the case I have already done or the new case, so in the week leading up to that, I doubt very very very much I will be writing here. But until then, the crazy confused ramblings of Sam, are here to stay! The case, is about a vehicle theft, and I am defending. This is a fairly balanced case, unlike the Jack Johnson case, which was tilted in a slightly favourable manor, towards the defence winning the case. There are strong points for each argument. In every case I defend, even if the evidence is telling me the absolute opposite, I beleive that my client is innocent, and even if as an un-biased person I would condemn as guilty, I still get stuck into a biased mind frame. So I want to ask you all (wow, onto questions already) What you think, and why, if the person is guilty or not; I won't give you the entire details, just the likley arguments to be put forward by defence and then prosecution:
The owner of the car, and the owner's friend are the people claiming they saw the defendant in the car driving. They have admitted they only saw the back of the driver's head. The lighting was poor and there are endless amount of factors suggesting that an accurate identification was almost impossible to make. Therefore, the I will be arguing that in The defendants case.
The prosecution, I presume, will be enquiring into the following; The fact that the defendant had the car keys in his pocket when he was arrested, the fact he ran away from the car when he collected the keys. He has said that he knew the owner of the car (from the number-plate, which was personalised.) to which there is no dispute, and he wished to return the car key's to the owner (even after it was crashed??). Then he ran because he was feeling ill and he wanted to get home (which his friends have agreed, he was feeling ill, without collaborating. Also he was sick in the police car).
Do you think he's guilty? Onto your questions (yay, I can stop with all that fancy writing)
Blood donar? Yes. Do I need go any further (Damn! I had to stop myself from saying 'elaborate' instead of 'go any further', 'restrain' instead of stop and 'as oppose to' instead of 'instead'. Scince this lawyer thing, my head has litterally become a theasorus. STOP BRAIN, I COMMAND YOU!) Anyway, yes. yes. and yes, If it means they give me biscuits at the end then sign me up. I suppose the prosepect of perhaps helping someone is a plus, too.
What is my favorite thing to purchase? Books. books, books and more books. Ok, this time I will go further, otherwise I will have gotten by my entire article by just giving a one word answer over and over again.
I think I've already asked a question, but I just want some feedback: We need to start looking for some other people to fill in the massive gaps in our blog.. anybody?? We need to get together at some point and talk, provided that stickam isn't the un-reliable.. thing it is, and that messenger doesn't do that stupid thing which means Chris Emma and I can't all be in the same conversation without it breaking.

There really does need to be more hours in a day!

Hello all!

I must say today was quite a productive day, I went to my lab, did well on a quiz and finished a rather tedious astrophysics assignment. I was going to continue on and work on some quantum mechanics, but I decided against and will just go to bed earlier. Tomorrow is going to be quite chaotic, as I need to get multiple things done for school, as well as I'm working tomorrow evening. With all this "wonderful" school work in mind, I have opted to severely cut back on my internet time. Worry not, I shall continue posting, I'm just cutting back on other things such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Dailybooth, etc. I'm just overly obsessed with the internet and it is affecting my schooling. That being said I'm not going to cut everything off completely, just cut back and really focus on time management and school. There is only a month left in the semester and I really need to do well!

As an update to my MBP, I have received and installed my invisibleSHIELD, as well my sleeve has arrived, so I just need to go pick it up!

Questions:

Mine: I think as far as another culture is concerned, I would either choose something Mediterranean (likely Italian or Greek), or Swiss, or Japanese. That being said regardless of where I was brought up I think I would fancy living else where at least for part of my life and experiencing as many cultures places as I can!

Sam: Probably when I put the wrong date on a form at work. I for some strange reason put March 30th instead of March 21. The accounting department got a good chuckle out of my stupidity, since they are the ones that get the forums.

Emma: As I mentioned to Emma before, I would love to donate blood and organs (when I pass on!) However, as a homosexual I am not allowed to! This makes quite crossed with the government. I realize that statistically homosexuals have higher rates of STIs, but it's still unfair that a healthy person is not allowed to donate, regardless of sexual orientation. Especially when they keep begging for more because there isn't enough to go around. The sad part is that I don't think that rule will be changing any time soon, since it was just this past year that they banned homosexuals from donating organs, it used to be just blood but now it's both.

New Question: What is your favorite thing to purchase? (such as, books, CD's, DVD's, food, clothes, cards, games, make up, etc.)

That’s what I gonna feel when this week is over.

So the last week was much more eventful then the weeks before. Or eventful, I did more different stuff at least. The beginning of the week was school and gym classes as usual but last Wednesday I moved home to my sisters apartment to take care of her cats while she was away visiting her grandmother. I realized one thing when I lived there and that is the fact that I’ll probably fail at making food for myself when I move out. I love cooking but it’s no fun when it’s just for me and I’m a bit lazy too.

Now I’m home at my place again and yesterday my phone decided to crash on me. Right now it’s working again (knock on wood) so hopefully it’ll all work out. I’ve also managed to get another cold. My body seems to know when it’s the worst time to get sick and then it strikes.

Let’s move on to the questions.

Last week I let you watch a song and say what you thought of it, even though Chris was the only one doing it. The reason I did that was because that is an acoustic version of a song that I like but I can’t decide which I like the most. Here’s the original.



Chris wanted to know what culture or ethnicity we would like to be re-born into if it was possible and we got to choose ourselves. I think I would like to be born in a Mediterranean country and get the opportunity to live in that culture. I just get the feeling that they have a more peaceful way and really strong family connections.

Sam wanted to know what the stupidest thing we’ve seen this week is. The stupidest thing I’ve seen must have been the guy at the mall that was talking with a friend on his phone and after like five minutes, still talking on the phone, he started to look through his pocket and then proceeded to tell his friend on the phone that he thought he had lost his phone. I mean how stupid can you be?

So I’ve been thinking about signing up to become a blood donor so my question for this week is if that is something you could see yourself doing?

I have finnaly returned to the internet! The reason why I first left was because of preperations for the mock trials, which seemed to pay off because we are through to the next round in the competition!!! So, because I haven't posted in about five years, I will tell you all about it!! (lucky you!)
We met up at school, slightly exited and apprehensive about the day ahead. Right from the start we presumed that this would be the first and the last stage of the competition for us, so anyone showing even the slightest glimmer of hope of winning was quickly jumped on and discouraged not to do so. We arrived and immediatley I encountered a problem, a very serious, potentially endagering dilema. There was no bins!! So I walked down the road in hope of finding one, only to find seven bins, no further that ten feet away from each other! How can you even need a bin every ten feet?? Anyhow, there were speeches, coffees and other stuff and then finnally our first team was doing thier case. Our first team, which I was not part of, was the prosecution. They were prosecuting Jack Johnson (who Chris has told me is a Canadian singer?? xD) who was there for a charge of contradicting the public order act 1986. Unfortunatley for our prosecution, the case was impossible to get a guilty verdict, unless they defence lawyer and the legal adviser didn't mention the law clear enough (which of course the defence, wanting a not guilty verdict, would do). But the prosecution won, in terms of points for performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then onto the defence case! I was the first defence lawyer. We went into the room, and the oposing team were in school uniform.. Not a fantastic start! And we also won that one. I think I managed to win the hearts of the magistrates by thinking quickly and not being phased by a strict judge. One of the most remembered things from the court was actually the following:
Gurney: 'So can I just clarify, your drive is five meters long, there were net curtains redusing visablity, it was dark at the time of the incident, the fact you cannot give accurate or precise figures of the numbers throwing eggs, or the numbers there at the incident, the fact you were upset at the time of the incident, the fact it took place quickly..'
lead magistrate: with all due respect Mr Gurney you are making all these statements and not asking any questions..'
Gurney: do you disagree with what I have just said? (laughter)
The whole thing was great fun, I will be begining preparation for that soon and I am now seriously considering a career in this. The amount of people who believe I could get there has made me consider it more seriously. So, in order to aid with my endless note taking, court transcripts, essays, laws, and court notes I will be taking for my preparation in the trial and perhaps new career training ( XD ) I am learning shorthand. I can't begin to describe how uncool that is to be learning it.. but when I have that skill under my belt.. well, perhaps firstly I should get some belts, but when I get one, I think that Shorthand would be something I'd like to put under it..
So, trying to switch off from the really formal writing style that you have to get used to when you do all this law stuff.. SAM- STOP TALKING ABOUT FRICKING LAW ALREADY!! (sorry)
Ok, because as I said, I didn't post in ages, I did a random post not too long ago actually, and scince then there are only two things I have to answer:
Emma: What do I think of that song? Well I think at times that guy has freaky eyebrows.. I'll try and not get started on analysing it, as I am a real music boffin. But in terms of personal taste, it would be put in my 'ok..ish', pile. In the fact, I prefer slightly heavier more upbeat songs. Oh and by the way 'la voix' is french for 'the voice'. Just some random knowledge I have floating around in my head.
Chris: I love this question; if you could be born and raised into another race/ culture what would it be? I'm not sure to be perfectly honest. I think it would have to be europe, and although I'd love to say egyptian, I'm not too into the whole thing were not believing in god is a tabboo, and I'd love to say Japanese, but I'm not skilled in any way with computers and robots. So europe definatley. I would like to say germany, because I love how organised and logical, I'm a logical person, I can appreciate rules for their merit, but some English rules are STUPID! Like in Germany, they have no school uniform and can go out at lunchtime.. I know this applies to most contries, but there are loads of cool german things. But I am not a very.. 'german' person, there are definatley german type people (I have just decided.) I might consider france for a second, but Im not THAT arogant or into eating slugs. I like italy, but I likeah to sometimes a rest and not witha alla zeeah arma waving and 'heyy MARIO!! LUIGI! BONJOURNO! CIAO!' I think after a while I;d be a bit worn out. I love the netherlands steretype, obviously not the drugs and prostitution, but the chilledness (is that a word? yeah, fat chance I have of being a lawye... SAM- NO! STOP THERE DON'T EVEN MENTION THAT WORD AGAIN, YOU'RE MAKING THIER EYES BLEED! ONE MORE WORD AND ITS A CONTRADICTION TO THE.. urm.. thing) So, it would probably be the netherlands, I know about ten people from there and they are all amazing really cool, chilled people. But, if I could choose anywhere, without excluding where we do come from, I would choose England. Everytime, no question. Yeah, sometimes it stinks like a cow's excretion, but ultimatley we are a giving, kind nation. And despite what people think, we don't all wear monicals, drink afternoon tea with scones whilst having conversations like 'how do you do? glorious weather, is it not?' although most people working in the arena of law seem to!! (apart from me)
My question was, how did we get into this internet community? Which I would also have to say, youtube! Yep.
My question is, as I can only think of sucky ones, will be 'what is the stupidest thing you've seen in the past week, in real life, the news, anywhere, just the stupidest thing. I'll tell you this weeks and then I'll tell you again next week. This week, was a lift which started on level 3 (it couldn't go down any further at all), then went to 4, 5 and then n entire level up from five called: 5a?? what the hell!! Would it reallt harm them to use the number 6 at least??
